Moisture Meters can be used for wood, Concrete, grain and various other materials and is read in %.

Moisture meters are great to measure the moisture content in bulk solids, liquids and some gases. Some devices use infrared (IR), radio frequency (RF), or microwave techniques to evaporate water from a sample. Others determine moisture content by measuring a material’s conductance, resistance, or capacitance and calculating a corresponding moisture value. Variables measured include relative humidity, absolute humidity, specific humidity, and dew point. Relative humidity is a measure of the amount of water in the air compared with the amount of water the air can hold at a measured temperature. By contrast, absolute humidity is the mass of water vapor in a given volume of air. Specific humidity is the absolute humidity divided by the total mass of the given volume of air. Dew point is a measure of the temperature to which air needs to be cooled in order for saturation to occur. Moisture meters that measure pressure and temperature are commonly available. These specialized devices often include special circuitry or additional probes.

There are several form factors for moisture meters. Many require a secondary device or instrument for data acquisition or the transmission of humidity information. Integrated circuit (IC) chips mount on printed circuit boards (PCB). Benchtop or floor-standing moisture meters include a full casing or cabinet and an integral interface. The V-Tech De Mattia Flex Tester has a set of grips to hold test specimens in two tiers with their holding faces lying in the same vertical plane. Holding one end of the test specimen in a fixed grip and the other end in a reciprocating grip provides the flexing and unflexing action. The set of grip has two-fixed grip and one large reciprocating grip positioned between them in order to flex half of the test specimen while the other half is being unflexed. The reciprocating grip is slide on hardened and ground rods made of high carbon steel. The reciprocating motion is provided by an eccentric and linkage mechanism driven by an electric motor through V-belt and pulleys. A six digit electronic counter is provided for indicating the number of the test cycles undergone.

The equipment is build on a rigid fabricated base plate and finished in metallic painting and bright chrome/zinc plating to give it a corrosion resistant finish. Theory:

• Dipole Meter is an adaptable instrument that is used for measuring the dielectric constant of non-polar liquids. In the equipment, a particular circuit has been developed for an audio oscillator that produces a stabilized wave. In this experiment, the dielectric cell is standardized using reference liquid having known dielectric constant by immersing the dielectric cell assembly into reference Liquid. Then experimental liquid whose dielectric constant has to be determined is taken and assembly is immersed into the liquid, resulting in a change in oscillation frequency. From resulting shift, the capacitance of cell in the unknown liquid is calculated (CX). Dielectric Constant of unknown liquid is calculated using relation:
