The V-Tech VT 3150 portable suspended solids analyzer is a unique system that combines advanced electronics with a solid-state optical sensor. It is a multi-range analyzer designed for the measurement of suspended solids in aqueous solutions. The microprocessor-based electronics of the analyzer provide a high degree of  exibility and ease of use. Data logging and the ability to download the data directly to a computer are standard features. The sensor operates on the principle of single gap light absorption as the means of determining the concentration of suspended solids. The model 35L sensor was speci cally designed for solids concentrations typically found in clari er ef uents (0 to 100 mg/l) and plant ef uents (0 to 30 mg/l) of wastewater treatment plants, and rivers or streams (under 1000 mg/l). The sensor utilizes an infrared emitter to minimize colour effects and compensates for emitter variations due to temperature by measuring source brightness. Ambient light has no effect on the measurement.
